Formålet med golfturneringen er først og fremst å samle inn penger til brystkreft-saken. Årlig rammes ca 2 800 kvinner i Norge av brystkreft. Mange personer er berørt av kreft, enten som pasient, pårørende, venn eller kollega. Pink Cup er en fin anledning til å vise engasjement og omtanke for de mange som rammes.

Pink Cup er både en golfturnering og en innsamlingsaktivitet. Pink Cup er en videreføring av NGFs veldedighetsturnering. Turneringen skiller seg fra andre golfturneringer ved at det er klubbens innsamlede beløp som kvalifiserer til finaleplass. Innsamlet beløp kommer både fra startavgiften og fra ulike aktiviteter i klubbene. Total innsamling i 2012 var fantastiske kr 1 100 000,-.
